Our Story

It is time to prioritise yourself.

We have become experts at caring for everyone around us.

Yet somewhere along the way, we have forgotten to care for ourselves.

The consequences are not only emotional. They are biological.

Today, science increasingly shows that chronic stress influences far more than how we feel. It affects how we sleep, recover and age. It also changes the behaviour of our skin. Through a continuous dialogue with the nervous system, the skin responds to the body’s internal state—often long before we recognise it ourselves.

As a pharmacist, I spent years fascinated by the relationship between skin biology and overall wellbeing. One question kept returning:

Why do we continue to treat the skin as an isolated organ when science shows it is deeply connected to the rest of the body?

Then life asked me to discover the answer in a much more personal way.

In 2017, I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer.

During months of treatment, everything slowed down. For the first time in years, I experienced what happens when the body is no longer expected to perform, but invited to recover. Healing taught me that true regeneration cannot be rushed. It begins with balance. With restoration. With giving the body—and ourselves—the space to recover.

That experience transformed not only my life, but also my vision of skincare.

I realised that beautiful skin is not created by doing more.

It flourishes when we support the biology behind it.

That conviction became the foundation of Serenea.
